Dunn School

Los Olivos in the Santa Ynez Valley, California

About

Dunn School is a renowned independent boarding school in Los Olivos in the Santa Ynez Valley, California. The school was founded in 1957 by Tony Dunn. He modelled the school after the principles of the UK boarding school tradition, similar to Eton, but adjusted for the needs of a US-American school. The 54-acre campus provides plenty of space for about 250 students, out of which 60% are boarders. It also sports state-of-the-art buildings, such as the Sinclaire Art Centre and the Cindy Bronfman Leadership Center – housing art and media rooms, spaces to do pottery in, a performing arts theatre, an innovation lab and a café that’s run by students. In terms of sports, the school has several tennis courts, pitches, a swimming pool, a climbing wall, and a lot more than that!
